Trip West - Part 1 Heading out to Glacier

Well, here is your next segment in blog posts that I am very behind on 😁   I will be sharing a few posts with photos from our bigger honeymoon road trip that we took in September of 2020.  Once again as seems to be the case with our trips it was an interesting one full of adventures between tire troubles, me being sick and pregnant, and other circumstances.  But, it was still a good trip and we got to see a lot of beautiful things and spend quality time together.

And we're off!

Our goal for the first day was Glendive, MT which we made it to despite the few hour stop in Bismarck, ND to get a tire fixed.  Who knew that Sam's Club is the only place with tires open on a Saturday? 😆

The next morning we took off for Glacier where we camped for a couple nights.

You never know what you'll see along the highway haha

So...this was our view most of the time..haze from wildfires..

Lots of good meals by my hubby over the campfire :)

Drove down dirt roads to the middle of nowhere to get a famous "Bearclaw" caramel roll from the Polebridge Mercantile..

Well, that is a small snippet of our time at Glacier...Stayed tuned as we head to Wenatchee, WA and Mt Rainier next! :)

Honeymoon Part 2

After our stay at Bluefin we decided to head over to Ely for a night.  Brenden had the first part of the week planned and then from there we could decide where we felt like going.  So, off to Ely we headed!

The drive to Ely on Hwy 1 was absolutely beautiful.  The trees were covered in a a beautiful icy frost, thankfully the roads were not bad!

We enjoyed the short walk to Kawishiwi Falls just outside of Ely.  We were not able to do as much walking/hiking as I would have liked due to being sick, but I was very thankful by this point in the week that we were feeling up to this one.  It was so pretty!

After a night in Ely we headed down to Duluth for our last night before heading home.  We went and checked out the Aquarium which was really fun and had a lot of pretty cool exhibits.

Red Lobster for the last night of our Honeymoon

Well, that about sums up the highlights of our honeymoon!  Despite things not always going according to plan and being sick we still had a great time and lots of memories were made.  While being sick that week I saw even more in depth what a kind and caring man I had married :)

...and now I am looking forward to heading back Up North in a couple weeks for our 2nd Anniversary!  Stay Tuned ;)

Honeymoon January '20

Hello!  I realize the craziness of doing a post for a trip that happened almost 2 years ago, but I guess I'm doing it more for me than for anyone who reads it so I can go back through the memories and pictures and have the post to look back at later.  I will just do 2 posts for this one and share the highlights from our stay in Grand Marais, Ely, and Duluth.  We both got the stomach flu for part of the week so did not do quite as much adventuring as we had hoped, but still had a good time despite it all.

Brenden surprised me with where we were staying and he picked this beautiful room which overlooked Lake Superior at Bluefin Bay Resort.  Funny thing was I'd always driven by there and thought it looked like an awesome place to stay!

They even had marshmallow kits for the fireplace :)

After a day of being sick in bed when we were finally feeling better we went to the cute Bluewater Cafe in Grand Marais for breakfast and then for a short walk along the shore.

It was a gorgeous morning with everything covered in ice.

Had some lunch at Sven & Ole's Pizza

Made a quick stop at Cascade River State Park
