Grand Portage --> Partridge Falls --> High Falls --> Middle Falls

Monday morning we woke up ready to go and excited for a beautiful sunny day!  We drove up to Grand Portage and went in the visitor center at the National Monument.  Unfortunately the monument was not open for the season yet.

 

We pulled over at this overlook of Lake Superior to stretch and take a few pictures.

After stopping at Grand Portage to get gas we ventured to Partridge Falls!  There was a book at the hostel of waterfalls in Minnesota and we saw it in there and thought it would be fun to check out.

We started off on Mineral Center Road, which then turned to dirt...I'll just say that it was a long dirt road to get to this parking lot haha...

We basically were right next to the falls!

After we left Partidge Falls we continued up to Grand Portage State Park which is right along the Canadian Border.

Some people are crazy (or just stupid..)...these guys were definitely scaring me!

 

After we left High Falls we crossed the border in to Canada and stopped at the Middle Falls right along side the road.  It would have been a 3.5 mile hike if we had went to it from where we were in the state park.

North Shore Trip - Off we go!

I'm excited to start a series of blog posts with you from a road trip my friend Annie and I took up the North Shore to Thunder Bay Ontario!  We left Sunday afternoon May 6th, 2018 and got back Friday evening the 11th.  It was an awesome trip with beautiful scenery and plenty of laughter along the way.  Hope you enjoy following along on our journey!

It was a nice 3/4 of a mile hike to the waterfall.

After leaving Caribou Falls we continued on to our stop for the night - the Hungry Hippie Hostel by Grand Marais!

We ended up having the whole place to ourselves!

The family that runs it is so nice and has made such a comfortable place for people to stay.

It was a good first day and we managed to get some sleep that night despite being excited about our trip! :)  Up next...our adventure to Partridge Falls and Grand Portage!
